"San Pascual's Table"
2006
This is probably my favorite piece. I've depicted San Pascual peaking around the corner (along with the kitchen cat and mouse) watching his fellow brothers enjoying a traditional New Mexican meal he has prepared for them.  On the table is red chile, burritos smothered in chile, enchiladas with a fried egg on top, tamales, spanish rice, beans, tortillas and for dessert sopaipillas with honey.
"Los Cantantes"
2009
Being a native New Mexican, I’ve grown up with all the gorgeous wildlife of the state.   I’m still in awe when I see rabbits dart across the road, roadrunners  running through the brush or hear the coyotes singing outside of our window.  The coyotes here have a real beauty to them and will do whatever it takes to  survive.  My dad has always been especially connected to the coyotes; I painted this piece for him.

"Restaurante de Santa Fe II"
2010
This is the piece that won the "2010 First Exhibitor" at Contemporary Hispanic Market.  The original sold in the first 45 minutes of the show! I love living in Santa Fe.  It's always a treat to walk on the plaza and eat at one of the amazing restaurants there.  I wanted to capture that experience in this painting.
"La Familia"
2009
This is a very special peice to me because it is based on my actual family.  The painting hanging on the wall is my Grandma Almeida's house. My Grandpa Manuel Almeida sits to the left wearing his uniform from Zia Co. in Los Alamos. My Grandma Reynalda is on the right and my parents and sister sit to the left. The others are representational of my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins!
"San Pascual: Muy Contento"
2008
I wanted to convey a real sense of contentment in this retablo.  San Pascual's overall appearance is very soft and quite fat, and I like that about him. I like to draw the kitchen cat on his back which seems to be the ultimate position of contentment.
"San Pascual: Vigas"
2006
I named this retablo for the carved wooden beams you see above San Pascual's head.  The string of dried red chile that you see on the back wall is a ristra. Growing up, I often watched my mother pull chilis from our ristra, add water to it and blend them to make red chile sauce.
"Cocina Roja"
2006
I really love warm colors (as you can tell).  I lived in Tucson, Arizona for almost ten years and I loved the vibrant colors the Mexican people use in their art, homes, and food.
"Mamacita II"
2011
One of the best memories I have of childhood is that of my Grandma Almeida teaching me how to make tortillas.
"St. Francis: Liberty's Blessing"
2009
This was a commisioned piece for a client who had saved her dog "Liberty" from a shelter.  Saint Francis is cradling Liberty in his arms.
"Cat in Reflection"
2010
Painting water has always been a challenge for me.  This painting was one of the first times I really enjoyed painting reflection. I wanted to paint a setting that a cat would feel like heaven in.

"Mice Cream"
2008
This bad kitty is about to have his favorite dessert: vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, and a mouse on top! The perfect print for ice cream shop owners and dessert lovers!
"San Pascual: Cheers!"
2011
This is the first time I painted San Pascual sitting at a table actually enjoying the food he has cooked.  He is having a burrito smothered in red chile, spanish rice, pintos with lettuce and tomato garnish!  I wanted this piece to make you feel like you are sitting at a table dining with San Pascual!
"Frida"
2009
This is the first painting I did of famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo with her monkey companion.
"Frida's Curtains"
2010
This is a painting I did of Frida Kahlo based on a self portrait she did that she gifted to Leon Trosky. It's my favorite image of her.
"Frida's Twins"
2010
Frida Kahlo with twin baby monkeys. Butterflies in her hair and dragon flies flying above.
"La Partera"
2010
This piece is very special to me because both my great grandmothers, Epifania Almeida and Carmelita Anaya were parteras or midwives.
"Abuelita"
2010
This is an homage to my Grandma Reynalda Almeida.

"San Pascual's Biscochitos"
2011
Growing up in New Mexico comes with lots of really beautiful traditions.  One of my favorite traditions during Christmas is eating all of the homemade biscochitos everyone gives as gifts here.  Biscochitos are rich cookies with anise seeds with sugar and cinnamon on top.  They are delicious with coffee or tea.  Many people use Crisco in their biscochitos, but the general concensus is that good old-fashioned lard is the only way to go! I agree!
"Frida: Beside Myself"
2010
This is an homage to Frida Kahlo's "Two Fridas"
"Holing Diegito"
2009
Frida with the baby boy she lost
"Tres Mujeres"
2006
The women in my family have always been especially prominent. It has been the matriarchs in my family that have kept the family united and strong. In this painting I wanted to convey that strength.  The painting is representative of my mother (right), sister (middle), and me (left).  The women are sitting together on an Indian rug inside the protection of their adobe home.  They are united as one holding hands.  My mother’s hair is pulled back in a chignon as women did when they reached maturity. My sister’s braids are pinned up as though she is in the transition from child to woman. The youngest girl of the family has braids.  The doll in the baby’s hands represents future generations of women that will be nurtured, protected, and strong.
"Savannah Smiles"
2009
This is a painting of my sweetheart of a dog Savannah. She has been a real blessing to our family
"Feeling Koi"
2009
This painting went to two of my favorite collectors in the whole world, Pam and Joyce. Love you Ladies!
"She Is Life"
2011
We women are amazing. From us, springs life!
"Es Todo"
2012
Holding my son for the first time fullfilled me in a way I don't believe anything else ever could.
